The General Election in Ireland will take place on Friday, November 29. The Electoral Commission recommended that at the upcoming election, a new three-seat constituency of Wicklow-Wexford be created, with a transfer of territory from the constituencies of Wexford and Wicklow.

None of the ten TDs who had been elected at the 2020 Irish general election for the constituencies of Wexford and Wicklow live in the new constituency.
Arklow has never had its own Dáil deputy in the century since the State was founded – the nearest was Paudge Brennan from Carnew, who was a Fianna Fáil TD until 1987.
