Status Yellow low temperature warning in place for all of Ireland
Met Éireann have issued a Status Yellow snow-ice warning for all of Ireland, which will come into place from 8pm .The weather forecasters have warned of very cold temperatures bringing with them the potential for widespread snow and ice throughout the country from this evening until 10am on Wednesday. Some potential hazards include dangerous driving conditions, travel disruption, and poor visibility due to frost and ice being likely along with the potential for sleet, snow, and hail.Met Éireann have warned that temperatures are due to drop considerably this week, usually ranging from 3-6 degrees over the Northern half of the country, while the rest of Ireland will experience between 7 and 12 degrees.
Today, Wednesday, and Thursday are due to be the coldest nights of the week, with overnight temperatures dropping to below freezing to between -2C and -4C.
