Over €110,000 has been spent on keeping the courthouse in Wicklow Town closed since 2010.
Following correspondence from Wicklow T.D. John Brady the Minister for Justice said the figure doesn’t include the costs associated with having the court service located in Bray.
Demolition works to facilitate a planned extension were due to start in early 2018, but the works have never proceeded.
Deputy Brady says he’s the refurbishment of the premises must be fast tracked to avoid wasting further taxpayer money.
He says he’s disappointed that more than a year on from the Minister’s announcement, there’s been no progress.
