Wicklow Sports & Recreation Partnership has announced the recipients of the Club Development Grant Scheme for 2024.
A record number, 78 clubs, will receive financial support through this grant scheme for 2024.
One of the remits of Wicklow Sports and Recreation Partnership is to support sports clubs to provide opportunities for people to participate in organised sport and physical activity.
This Club Development Grant Scheme aims to support initiatives that will lead to an increase in participation levels in sports clubs across Wicklow.
This particular scheme focused on:
- Training and education of club volunteers.
- Delivery of programmes or initiatives that will increase club membership.
- Small equipment purchases to facilitate increased membership.
- Youth development programmes to support the youth section of the club by training or upskilling youth members.
- Programmes and initiatives with a focus on inclusion of new communities, women and those with disabilities.
