It comes after a report into the CAHMS service found children had been lost in the system without follow up.
Some of those children were on antipsychotic drugs, a situation the Tánaiste has described as unacceptable.
This report paints a worrying picture of child mental health services.
It highlights issues with staffing, record keeping and 140 children in one CAMHS area alone being effectively forgotten, with no one following up on their treatment.
The report also describes a postcode lottery with treatment better in some places than others.
The Inspector of Mental Health Services says she published this report earlier than planned, due to the pressing need for change.
Health Minister Stephen Donnelly says while there are difficulties those working in the service are providing a good service.
