Wicklow Man Could Face Jail Time In UAE After Sending 'Threatening' Emojis

There are calls for the Irish Government to intervene in the case of an Wicklow man who's being held in the UAE.

Stuart Quiney, who's from Laragh, is facing cybercrime charges over messages he sent last year, while living in Ireland.

The 39-year-old, sent what are being called 'threatening' emojis to a Belgian man, who he accused of taking his belongings from an apartment in Dubai in 2022.

The Department of Foreign Affairs says it's aware of the case, and is providing consular assistance.
