Credit and debit card fraud in Ireland has reached record levels, with consumers being warned to shop safely online.

Credit and debit card fraud in Ireland has reached record levels, with consumers being warned to shop safely online.
New figures from the Banking & Payments Federation show card fraud rose by 9 percent in 2020, the vast majority of it was online.
Consumers and the banks lost 24 million euro to fraudsters last year.
Brian Hayes, Chief Executive of the B.P.F.I., says people should use websites beginning with 'https' in the address to avoid being scammed:
