A Sinn Fein Councillor in Wexford has put forward a motion calling for the re-establishment of emergency accommodation in the north of the county.
Fionntán Ó Súilleabháin has asked his council colleagues to provide the necessary funding for emergency accommodation for those who may need it, similar to what was in place up until approximately 2 years ago.
The call comes after a homeless man died in Wexford Town last week.
The number of rough sleepers in emergency accommodation has fallen from 8,702 in August to 8,656 in September.
However, there's been a rise of 8 in homeless families to 1,128 last month.
