The HSE is hoping to offer every adult a booster vaccine by the end of January or early February.
GPs have ordered about 55% more Covid boosters than expected, under the accelerated programme.
The HSE last week asked them to ramp up the amount of additional doses they administer.
It was hoped they'd double their previous rate - and hit 150,000 a week.
