Wicklow County Council will close a series of roads to carry out works on the Dart+ Coastal Project and Chapel Road Pedestrian and Cyclist Scheme that will see diversions and traffic management systems in place in the Bray and Greystones Municipal Districts.Beginning this morning, Convent Avenue in Bray will be closed until Friday, April 11, to facilitate ground investigation works for the Dart+ Coastal Project.
An alternative route will be in place via Strand Road onto Albert Avenue and Meath Road, and vice versa. In Greystones, the L-1027-0 Chapel Road from the roundabout at its junction with the L-1025-0 Delgany Wood Avenue and the L-1027-1 Convent Road to a point north of its junction with Littlebrook and The Poplars (L-10273-0) will be temporarily closed from April 10 to August 15 2025 to facilitate the Chapel Road Pedestrian and Cyclist Infrastructure Improvement Scheme.Traffic diversions will be in place via the R761 and R762 from the Delgany Wood Avenue (L-1025-0) in the south and from the Blacklion Manor Road (L-1026-0) in the north.
A one-way system will operate southbound along Chapel Road from its junction with Dromont, passing St. Laurence’s National School and returning northbound through Eastmount to rejoin the two-way road again at the junction of Chapel Road and Dromont. Local access will be maintained.
