Road Closures In Bray As Dart Project Progresses.

Wicklow County Council has advised that further road closures will be in place in Bray between Thursday August 8 and Friday September 20.

Wicklow County Council has advised that further road closures will be in place in Bray between Thursday August 8 and Friday September 20, to facilitate the installation of paving and site clearance for the Bray Transport Interchange Project, at Bray Dart station.

Adelaide Road between Quinsborough Road and Florence Road will be closed round the clock during that period and residents are advise to note the alternative routes:

• Southbound via Quinsborough Road, Station Road and Florence Road or Quinsborough Road, Wyndham Park and Florence Road.
• Northbound via Florence Road, Wyndham Park and Quinsborough Road.

The entire road frontage at the station will be reconfigured for pedestrian safety, with better bus parking and taxi spaces. There will be wider footpaths, safe crossing points and clear cycling routes to the station and ample bike parking.

The design and layout of the paths and roadways will create the ‘urban plaza’ type area with tree planting and seating. The work will also include the construction of two speed tables and pedestrian crossings at the junction of station and Adelaide Road and at the junction of Adelaide Road and Quinsborough Road. This will greatly improve pedestrian safety and accessibility at these busy crossing points.

The completed scheme will also include for a taxi rank on Station Road, to the north of the station entrance.
