Wicklow County Council is encouraging members of the public to engage with an online public display event regarding route options for the N11/M11 Junction 4 to 14 Improvement Scheme, which will address traffic congestion in the area.
The section under consideration is approximately 22km in length, extending from the existing M11/M50 junction west of Shankill in South Dublin to the junction at Coyne’s Cross here in Wicklow.
The public display details which scenarios are still under consideration.
The project team says although improved rail services would provide benefits for those living near the rail line, significant capacity issues would remain on the road and trains wouldn’t meet the specific objectives of the plan.
However they say improved bus services on the route including park and ride facilities can best meet the project objectives.
Submissions can be made online until the 20th of September.
