Located between 6 and 13 kilometres off the Arklow coastline, the proposed wind park by SSE Renewables, will be Ireland’s first large-scale offshore wind farm with an export capacity of 520 Megawatts.
Phase 2 will comprise of up to 76 offshore wind turbines, representing investment of between one and two billion Euro. The company says 80 full-time jobs operating out of Arklow will be created to support the day-to-day operations
Public information exhibitions are on view at the Bridgewater Shopping Centre, at the Arklow Town Library, the Municipal District Town Hall, and at Seamount in Courtown.
On the 4th of November, the company will host an online community forum that will include a full briefing on the current status of the project and its future.
