Since the closure of the public consultation period last November, Wicklow County Council received over 1,000 submissions regarding the scheme’s proposals.
Speaking on this, Wicklow Minister Simon Harris said, “Work is currently underway on the Post-Consultation report for the N11/M11 Bus Priority Interim Scheme.”
This Scheme is very important to our towns and villages in North Wicklow, and is an issue I have been working very closely on with both Wicklow County Council and Transport Infrastructure Ireland.”
During the public consultation period, I met and spoke with a large number of Bray and Enniskerry’s residents to discuss their concerns such as the proposed closure of the Herbert Road junction, the effects the scheme will have on traffic throughout the town and the proposed closure of Enniskerry’s junction.”
After encouraging local residents to voice their concerns, I am delighted to see that over 1,000 people sent in submissions to have their say over how their own communities will develop.”
North Wicklow’s residents know best what their communities need, and I will continue to push and ensure that the designers of this Scheme take these views and experiences into account before any further action is taken.”
As always, I will be sure to keep local residents updated once the full Post-Consultation report is available along with any further progress on this issue.” Minister Simon Harris concluded.
