New School Building Opens At St David's Holy Faith In Greystones

This morning the Taoiseach officially opened St. Davids Holy Faith Secondary School’s state of the art new school building in Greystones.

Speaking this morning, the Taoiseach said, “It is a privilege to have the honour of officially opening my own former secondary school’s new state of the art facilities as Taoiseach”.

“Over the years, as both a student and a public representative, I have seen the impact the team at St. Davids have had on every single one of their students”.

“The support for this school across Greystones, Kilcoole and Delgany is unquestionable, with generations of local families having passed through its doors”.

“That’s why its so important that they receive that same support from Government, and why delivering real progress for our schools has been such a high priority of mine as Taoiseach”.

“In County Wicklow alone we have seventeen major capital projects currently underway, and over the coming months I will keep working towards delivering on each and every one of these projects.”

“Our sincerest thanks and congratulations are also owed to Principal Simon Carey, without whom we would not be standing in front of this fantastic new school today.”

“Simon’s commitment to St. Davids is so strong, that even after achieving this new school, I know he is already on to the Department of Education pushing to provide even more opportunities for his students.”

“This new school represents the belief I have, and the Government has, in our students and young people, and I know that every cent of the €20 million invested into this school will start paying dividends right away”.

The Taoiseach concluded, “I am delighted to have been able to welcome you all here today, and I look forward to seeing the many benefits the new and improved St. Davids brings to our community for years to come”.
