Several cows were killed in a lightning strike near Kilkee in Co Clare yesterday.
More thunderstorms are expected today, with a weather advisory issued for the whole country.
The new advisory is valid from 6am today until 11pm tonight, with the forecaster saying more warnings are expected to follow.
