Issues with lighting on the Black Walk in Greystones, were raised at the February meeting of the Greystones Municipal District by Cathaoirleach Councillor Stephen Stokes, when he pointed to how vital the artery was for residents in the town."These lights are vital to guide the way between St Laurence's School, Kenmare Heights, Dr Ryan Park and Kindlestown Park. It is incredibly dark along the path, and at best I could count there are six lights that are out," he said.Cllr Stokes would like to see the lights restored by the Public Lighting section of Wicklow County Council as quickly as possible and commenting following the meeting, he said: "This is an important issue for pedestrian safety, which is why I raised it at a district meeting. I am campaigning for their restoration as a priority. It seems that a cable needs to be repaired. I would like to see the ESB resolve the issue urgently, if they are required to carry out any maintenance."
