The 81 year old, who had been ill in recent years, worked with RTÉ for over 50 years.
Described as the man with the golden voice Larry Gogan first started working with RTÉ in the 1960s.
He was best known for working with 2fm and his Just a Minute quiz.
He never laughed when contestants got the answer wrong - like when someone said the Taj Muhall was opposite the Dental Hospital.
Larry's wife died in 2002 and he's survived by his five children and 12 grandchildren.
His collegues have described him as a legend and a national instution.
The 81 year old worked for nearly six decades, presenting on 2FM for 40 years before moving to RTÉ Gold in January of last year.
