The Department of Education has approved plans for a major extension at Kilcoole Primary School.
Following correspondence with Wicklow Minister Simon Harris, officials say plans are in place to address ongoing demand for school places in the area.
There will be an additional 12 classrooms and special educational classrooms. There will also be a refurbishment and 4 classrooms extended to the St. Anthony’s building.
Speaking yesterday, Minister Harris said: "This is great news for the people of Kilcoole and for this super primary school. I really look forward to this project now advancing and seeing the benefit of this major investment in education in Kilcoole."
