It’s a momentous day for Arklow today.
The Minister for housing Darragh O’ Brien will turn the sod to mark the construction of the long awaited Waste Water Treatment plant .
Minister O’Brien Gave approval for the project in July.
The plant has an estimated overall cost of €139.3 million, with the facility expected to be up and running by September 2025.
Speaking to East Coast News, Wicklow Senator, Pat Casey, who will join the minister at today’s event, said this is a landmark day for Arklow town.
He said Arklow has been held back for 30 years and believes the project will lead to a new vibrant Arklow.
