Gardai are to be given extra powers to stop scrambler bikes and quads being used in public parks, on waste ground and beaches.
The measure have been approved by cabinet today.
Under the legislation, gardai will be able to seize quads if they were used in prohibited areas, and remove scramblers from people's homes, once they have a warrant.
