There were 114 assaults on ambulance staff in 2018 and 2019.
70 were physical, 43 were verbal and one was sexual, according to details released under the Freedom of Information Act.
41 of these incidents occurred in the North Leinster area, which covers Wicklow and Dublin.
The National Ambulance Service Representative Association says the problem is far worse than the statistics suggest:
