Feedback Sought On New Draft Wicklow Town - Rathnew Local Area Plan 2025

The purpose of this plan, in conjunction with the County Development Plan, is to put in place a land use framework that will inform and manage the future sustainable development of the ‘Wicklow Town – Rathnew’ area.

The draft Wicklow Town - Rathnew Local Area Plan 2025 is accompanied by a number of maps, environmental reports, appendices and a County Development Plan variation.

These documents are all available to view at the following locations, during their normal opening hours, until Wednesday 20th November:

On the Council’s website www.wicklow.ie through an online consultation portal;

·Wicklow County Council, County Buildings, Station Road, Wicklow Town

·Wicklow Municipal District Office, Town Hall, Market Square, Wicklow Town

·Wicklow Town Library.

 A public information day about the draft plan will be held in Wicklow County Council, County Buildings, Station Road, Wicklow Town, A67 FW96 on Thursday 24th October from 10am to 1pm and 4pm to 7pm. 

The public are invited to attend during those hours, where the planning team will be available to answer any questions on the draft plan, the plan process and to help guide the public on how to make a submission.

Local community / sporting groups are invited to arrange a one to one meeting between 1pm and 4pm with the planning team on that date.

 Written submissions / observations regarding the draft Local Area Plan, associated maps, appendices and variation are invited from the public and interested bodies. Submissions made before midnight on 20th November 2024 will be taken into consideration before the making of the Local Area Plan.

 Submissions may be made in one of the following ways:

1.      Through the online consultation portal at www.wicklow.ie

2.      Write to ‘Wicklow Town - Rathnew LAP’, Administrative Officer, Planning Section, Wicklow County Council, Station Road, Wicklow Town.

 Submissions or observations should include your name and, where relevant, details of any organisation, community group or company etc. which you represent. Children, or groups or associations representing the interests of children, are particularly encouraged to make submissions or observations regarding the foregoing.
