€55,000 in grant funding has been allocated for Crosscare East Wicklow Youth Service in Kildare Wicklow ETB under the Targeted Youth Employability Support Initiative (TYESI).
The funding announced today will support young people aged 15-24 years to return to education or take up training or employment.
This funding administered by KWETB and delivered by the youth service will help deliver on my pledge to make sure every young person in this country gets to reach their full potential, Taoiseach Simon Harris said.
Speaking today, Taoiseach Simon Harris said:
“Youth services across the country and across county Wicklow do an admirable job and provide a service which is invaluable in the community.
“I am determined as Taoiseach in making sure every young person in this country gets to reach their full potential.
“The funding announced today will go some way in helping achieve this priority of mine.
“The Targeted Youth Employability Support Initiative has a hugely positive impact and helps the community ensure the services are properly resourced while also helping young people get onto the job market.”
Taoiseach Simon Harris added:
“Previously as Minister for Further and Higher Education I was determined to pull all the levers at my disposal to make sure our young people get a chance in education and then in employment.
“As a government we have to make sure all the platforms are available to guide young people towards their passion and towards employment.
“I will continue in my role as Taoiseach and more importantly in my role as a TD for Wicklow to support youth services across the country and address their needs and demands”.
