Uisce Éireann has informed Wicklow County Council of an issue with the Rathdown Sewage Pumping Station located in Greystones, which has resulted in an overflow of sewage to the sea coast just south of Greystones Harbour.
The bathing prohibition for Greystones Harbour Environs, Greystones Cove, and Greystones South has now been lifted.
This decision comes after consultations with the Health Service Executive and confirmation from Uisce Éireann that the Greystones Rathdown Sewage Pumping Station is now operating normally.
Members of the public and bathers may resume swimming in this area.
