Uisce Éireann has informed Wicklow County Council of an issue with the Rathdown Sewage Pumping Station located in Greystones, which has resulted in an overflow of sewage to the sea coast just south of Greystones Harbour.
We advise that bathing is prohibited at Greystones Harbour Environs, Greystones Cove Beach and Greystones South Beach until the matter is resolved.
The issue is expected to last at least 14 days.
Bathers are advised to avoid bathing in this area during this time as a precaution.
