Ireland has the fourth highest rate of Covid-19 in the EU - but it has the highest vaccine uptake in the bloc.
That's according to new figures from the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control.
Only Slovenia, Lithuania and Estonia have higher 14-day incidence rates than the Republic, where 91 per cent of adults are fully vaccinated.
The five local electoral areas with the highest incidence rates of Covid-19 in the country are all in Donegal and Monaghan.
The worst is Milford, with a 14-day rate of 1,234 - which is over three times the national average.
Lifford-Stranorlar, Carrickmacross-Castleblayney, Letterkenny and Monaghan L-E-As also have rates of over 1,000.
