
A free, walk in Covid test centre in Wicklow will be in open to members of the public today.
The pop up facility at Newcastle Hospital will be open between 10am and 5pm for the next seven days.
Meanwhile a vaccine centre serving the Baltinglass area will open at Punchestown racecourse next week. Punchestown is already a Covid-19 test centre for parts of west Wicklow and from next Wednesday, it will also serve as a vaccination centre.
A vaccination centre at the Riverside Park Hotel in Enniscorthy will also open, with the capacity to deliver up to 1,000 vaccinations a day.
Meanwhile Nursing home residents will be allowed four visits a week from the 4th of May as long as 80 per cent of those being cared for in the homes are fully vaccinated.
NPHET says if the target isn't reached, then two visits per week will be permitted.
