Jim Mansfield Junior will find out today if he has a case to answer, following a trial that began in the Special Criminal Court a year ago.
The son of the late hotelier, Mansfield is accused of taking part in a conspiracy to falsely imprison Martin Byrne, a former employee of his.
Mr Byrne was employed as Head of Security for the Mansfields.
The accused denies conspiring to have him abducted and falsely imprisoned.
He also denies attempting to pervert the course of justice, by instructing another employee to destroy CCTV evidence.
The court will deliver its judgement today on the defence's application to acquit.
