Wicklow County Council have completed the purchase of the old Bank of Ireland building in Carnew.
When the Bank announced the closure of 88 of its branches nationwide, three were located in Wicklow, the other two were in Rathdrum and Tinahely.
District Councillor John Mullen says a consultation process will begin shortly to decide how best to use the facility.
The funding for the purchase of the recently vacated building has been applied for under the Government’s Village Enhancement Scheme at a cost of €200,000
