Race organisers say the sponsorship marks a significant milestone in the development of the event.
Codling Wind Park has been revealed as the new title sponsor of this year’s Wicklow Half Marathon & 10K run which will take place on March 24th.
Race organisers say the sponsorship marks a significant milestone in the development of this very popular event and that they are looking forward to welcoming a record number of participants to Wicklow town for it.
In 2019, around 1,700 runners, joggers and walkers took part in the event before it was suspended for two years due to Covid. This year organisers expect over twice that number, 3,500 people, to enter the Codling Wind Park Wicklow Half Marathon & 10K run.
The event, which will start on the quays of Wicklow Harbour, travels along a scenic route with stunning coastal views before finishing up in the unique courtyard of Wicklow’s Historic Gaol.
Race Director Mick Foy says the county’s fantastic scenery is a huge draw for people but so also is the warmth of the Wicklow welcome:
“The engagement and support from the people of Wicklow for this event has been nothing short of amazing, creating an atmosphere that participants and spectators really cherish.”
“We are eagerly anticipating the return of people who have participated previously and looking forward to meeting people who will be joining us for the first time. We are also thrilled to welcome our new sponsors Codling Wind Park on board for the next exciting chapter in the event’s development."
