CLAR Programme Funding Announced For Wicklow.

Taoiseach Simon Harris has today announced over €191,783 to deliver 6 projects under the 2024 CLÁR Programme.

Taoiseach Simon Harris has today announced over €191,783 to deliver 6 projects under the 2024 CLÁR Programme.

The investment will support the development of sports and outdoor facilities in County Wicklow.

The projects are:

• Annacurra GAA in Kilballyowen: Carpark Accessibility Upgrade Works €50,000
• Ballinacor Mountain Walkers Parking: Tarmacking and associated works of parking area at beginning of mountain trail €37,780
• Askanagap Community Hall: Hall renovations, flooring, wiring, project and sound system provision €50,000
• Knockananna Amenity area: Development of Green Space within area €29,215
• Ballymanus Community Field: Provision of al All Weather astroturf Pitch €50,000
• Knockananna Community Hall: Energy Upgrade €24,588

Announcing the successful projects today, Taoiseach Simon Harris said:

“I am thrilled to be announcing close to €200,000 investment  in our sports clubs and community halls in County Wicklow today.“I am particularly pleased that we are funding these community projects in more remote areas of Wicklow to ensure the whole county is provided for when it comes to sports facilities or community amenities.“It is so important to me as Taoiseach and as a TD for Wicklow that we continue to expand our investment in community projects and ensure no one club is left behind.“I know the provision of these facilities will truly uplift the community’s spirit. “I want to congratulate the sports clubs and community organisations that have been successful under this year’s CLAR programme and look forward to helping many more be successful in the months and years to come. “Today’s funding further proves how determined my Government is to deliver for Rural Ireland and to build stronger and safer communities.Since the CLÁR programme was reintroduced in 2016 by Fine Gael, funding of over €72 million has been approved for almost 2,450 projects.
