Capital Funding Worth €500,000 Allocated For Swimming Pool Project In West Wicklow

The Baltinglass District area remains the only one in the county without a pool for the community of around 26,000.

A pop up facility was stationed on the site of St Kevin’s Community Hall in the town in recent months after Wicklow County Council secured funding from Swim Ireland to provide the service

Officials have called on representatives from Wicklow County Council to meet to decide how best to move the project forward.

Campaign Spokesperson Deirdre McCormack says demand has increased to have a permanent pool in the area.
