The initiative is part of the County Council’s older people strategy 2017 to 2022.
Last year the Municipal District launched a new parking initiative designed to help older people get around the town more easily.
The parking bays are subject to normal parking fees and motorists are asked to respect these courtesy spaces, leaving them free for older people in the community who need them.
Signage has been erected at a total of six Age Friendly parking bays in St Mary’s Car Park on the Main Street and Castle Park Car Park.
