There were no so called killer blows delivered in last night’s election debate between the party Leaders from Fine Gael, Fianna Fail And Sinn Fein.
Mary Lou McDonald refused to answer whether she supports the Special Criminal Courts during her final TV debate of the election campaign.
She also came in for criticism over party member Conor Murphy's comments about the 2007 murder of Paul Quinn.
Michael Martin appeared to score an own goal, when he said Brexit was not a reason to keep a government in power, despite saying for several years, that Brexit was the reason why his party stuck to the supply and confidence agreement. He was also caught off guard in trying to explain his support for Bertie Ahern and later withdrawal of that support.
The Taoiseach Leo Varadkar was put under pressure over decisions he took regarding controversies surrounding Dara Murphy, Maria Bailey and Verona Murphy and was under attack over his party’s record on Health and Housing.
