
Nationally, 168 new Primary Schools have been approved for Hot School Meals
An additional 11 Primary Schools across Wicklow are set to receive Hot School Meals from September 2024.
Speaking today Taoiseach Simon Harris said:
“Today I am delighted to announce an additional 11 Primary schools in County Wicklow are set to benefit from the transformative Hot School Meals Programme.
“As Taoiseach and as a TD for Wicklow I am determined to expand to Programme to all schools nationwide.
“Hot School Meals play a huge role in saving parents valuable time and money."
The newly approved schools in Wicklow are:
- Scoil Mhuire na nAird, Shillelagh
- St Laurence O'Toole's National School, Roundwood
- Gaelscoil Chill Mhantáin, Rathnew
- St Joseph’s National School
- St Patrick’s National School, Bray
- St Saviours National School, Rathdrum
- Scoil Chualann, Bray
- Scoil Naomh Iosaf, Baltinglass
- Brittas Bay National School, Glenealy
- St Mary’s National School, Barndarrig
- Powerscourt National School, Enniskerry
Nationally, 168 new Primary Schools have been approved for Hot School Meals, bringing the total to nearly 2,200.
Meanwhile Minister Stephen Donnelly said:
“When this government took office, there were just 30 schools receiving Hot Meals. That number has increased considerably and today’s announcement brings that number to well over 2,000 Primary Schools who are able to benefit.
“As a Government, we have prioritised key cost-of-living supports. Hot school meals make a really valuable contribution to the wellbeing of hundreds of thousands of children across Ireland. Today’s announcement is good news for parents and the school children who will enjoy these meals.”
