Man Due In Court Over Fraudulent PUP Claims

A man in his 40's has been charged after 165-thousand euro was fraudulently claimed through the Pandemic Unemployment Payment.

In June gardai issued a warning about a phishing email claiming to be from the Courts Service telling people they had been selected for jury duty.
70 people handed over their personal information, which was then used to fraudulently claim PUP.
A man in his 40's was arrested in Cork yesterday and has since been charged.
He is due to appear before Mallow District Court this morning.
