Becci Harrison from Food at Fisher joined Declan on the Morning Show for her regular food slot - this week she shared her recipe for homemade lemonade!
Really Easy Lemonade
• 3 unwaxed lemons, roughly chopped
• 140g caster sugar
• 1 cold water
Method Tip the lemons, sugar and half the water into a food processor and blend until the lemon is finely chopped. Pour the mixture into a sieve over a bowl, then press through as much juice as you can. Top up with the remaining water and serve with plain ice or frozen with slices of lemon and lime.
Slightly less easy Homemade Lemonade
• 2 cups sugar
• 2 cups water
• 1 gallon cold water
• 2 cups fresh lemon juice
• 1 lemon, sliced, plus 1 lemon, cut into wedges, for garnish
Directions Make a simple syrup by adding the sugar and water to a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over low heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves, then remove from the heat and set aside to cool.
Add a gallon of cold water and the lemon juice to a large glass pitcher. Add the simple syrup and the lemon slices. Stir well. Pour the lemonade into tall glasses filled with ice. Garnish the rims with lemon wedges and enjoy icy cold! Variations
• Crushed fresh raspberries or strawberries in the bottom of the glass
• Great with Oranges or Grapefruit too – use less sugar
